Good News for Oceanside Harbor and Visitors
The much anticipated bridge linking North Oceanside to Oceanside Harbor is slated to begin construction shortly. This will mean improved access for all including residents and visitors to North Coast Village. At it's completion, the bridge will allow the current causeway to be opened and the San Luis Rey River to run free to the ocean!

Construction of Bridge to Begin Soon
City of Oceanside 10/09/2006
The anticipated construction of the Pacific Street Bridge is about to get underway. When completed, the bridge will provide a safe and attractive crossing for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians, and will be able to withstand the worst of storms. This is good news for businesses and residents who live and work on the Harbor side of the city.
Construction will begin on October 30, 2006 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2008. During this two year period, segments of some parking lots will be closed resulting in parking displacements, and Harbor Drive will be realigned.
To minimize impacts on the residential and business community, the construction will be staged around key events, and complimentary shuttle service will be provided. During off-peak periods (October through May 15th) the shuttle will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, and during peak periods (May 15th through October 5th) it will run Thursday – Sunday from 10:00 to 8:00 pm making eight stops along the way with a 15 minute turn-around.
The City will also be implementing a proactive outreach effort to encourage continued shopping and dining in the Marina area during the construction phase of the project.
If you need additional information or have a concern, please call Maryam Babaki, City of Oceanside Project Manager, at 760-435-5090 or email at mbabaki@ci.oceanside.ca.us."
